Prairie Sky

This project began after the pool was already in place, but the space still felt incomplete.

While the structure of the backyard was there, it lacked the layering and softness needed to bring everything together. The client wanted a garden style setting with more trees and privacy, but was unsure if the space could support it without feeling crowded.

The approach focused on creating balance. Introducing height, definition, and softness while maintaining openness throughout the yard.

Sixteen Eagleston Hollies in tree form were placed along the perimeter to frame the space and provide privacy without closing it in. Their spacing allows the yard to feel open while still creating a sense of enclosure.

Planting beds were designed to connect each area, from the pool wall to the fence line. A mix of architectural plants and low maintenance greenery complements the clean lines of the pool while keeping the space easy to maintain.

The result is a backyard that feels complete. Structured, balanced, and designed for everyday living.
