Freeze preparedness for your swimming pool

We created this guide to help you prepare your pool for an upcoming freeze in the area these are our top recommendations and a guide by Hayward the manufacturer of your equipment. You will also find a guide to keeping your in-pool furniture safe.

When a notice of temperatures below 32f go into effect keep your pumps on and running at all times. If you built your pool with us we have already programmed the automatic freeze protection. If you have a spa you will notice it will switch from pool to spa mode this is normal. always monitor and make sure the pumps are on at all times. It is recommended that you have a heater to heat up your pool the day before inclement weather. we recommend you cover your pool pipes around the equipment area although this is left to your discretion.

for more information on how to prepare please read and review this cold weather guide from Hayward.

Winterizing your Autofill

T0 turn your Autofill off turn the top knob clockwise until it lowers cover your faucet with a towel or faucet cover and close any water lines to the autofill (if you have any). Make sure you cover the Autofill pipe with a towel or foam pipe cover. Make sure all hoses are removed from your faucet. Go to your Autofill and press down to release any water that may be left in the lines . Remember to turn the Autofill back on when temperatures return to above freezing.

In-Pool Furniture by Ledge Lounger

What do I do with my Ledge Lounger products if temperatures are going to drop below freezing?

If temperatures are going to drop below freezing and you are winterizing your pool, we recommend performing the following steps:

  • Drain your in-pool Ledge Lounger product(s) completely, and remove them from the pool.

  • Store all in-pool Ledge Lounger products inside, or safely away from strong winds and inclement weather. If storing outside, cover product(s) with an industrial-grade plastic bag, or equivalent.
